Three men from Durham Region have been charged following an altercation in Burleigh Falls over the weekend.
According to the OPP, officers were called around 8:45 p.m. on Friday (July 3).
“The complainant reported that a group of males were damaging a vehicle with baseball bats and golf clubs after an altercation occurred between two groups that were swimming at Burleigh Falls,” reads a media release.
“The males left the area but were located in the Young’s Point area and arrested.”
Allan Strong, 18, of Oshawa has been charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose; assault with a weapon; driver – fail to properly wear seat belt, litter highway; drive motor vehicle, no validation on plate; drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available; driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available and novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
Jeffrey Chessman, 21, of Ajax has been charged with possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose and passenger – fail to properly wear seatbelt.
Randy Chessman, 25, of Ajax has been charged with two counts of mischief under $5,000, possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose, being intoxicated in a public place and consuming liquor in other than licenced premises, residence or private place.
All three are slated to appear in Peterborough court on Sept. 8.
