Police continue to search for the individual responsible for allegedly shooting a 42-year-old Brock Township resident in Beaverton Monday night (June 29).
At approximately 7:20 p.m. Monday, Durham Regional Police were called to a residence near Thorah Concession Road 4 and Highway 12 in Beaverton after receiving reports that a man had been shot. When officers arrived they found a man with serious injuries from a gunshot wound.
Police believe there was a verbal altercation between the individual shot and another male before the shooting.
The 42-year-old man from Brock Township was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre via air ambulance with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police say they searched the area for suspects, with negative results. Officers do not believe this was a random attack.
There are no suspect descriptors available at this time, police say, and investigators are asking for the public’s help.
