There are now 1,697 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Durham Region.

The update from the Durham Region Health Department Monday (June 29) states that there have been 564 cases in Pickering, 443 in Ajax, 268 in Oshawa, 194 in Whitby, 103 in Uxbridge, 95 in Clarington, 20 in Scugog and 10 in Brock Township.

A total of 43 residents are in home isolation, with four currently hospitalized.

A total of 180 deaths – including 152 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 1,470 cases have been resolved, which represents 87 per cent of the total.
