A Lindsay woman has been charged after allegedly stealing money from a donation box supporting a children’s hospital.
According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, staff at the business contacted police around midnight on Saturday (June 27) after the woman was spotted stealing money from a donation box that was left beside the cash register.
“An officer responding to the reported theft found the woman in the area of the restaurant and stopped to speak with her,” reads a media release.
“The woman initially identified herself to the officer with a fictitious name.”
Sabrina Nadia Reynolds, 39, has been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and obstructing a peace officer.
She is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Aug. 20.
