
Two Ottawa women are facing charges after police seized 240 pounds of illegal cannabis during a traffic stop on Highway 401 East Monday (June 22).
According to the OPP, officers stopped a vehicle in Northumberland around 4:30 p.m. as part of an investigation.
Marina-Anne Parris, 60, of Ottawa and Rebekah Foote, 24, of Ottawa have been charged with possession for the purpose of distributing, cannabis; possess, produce, sell, distribute or import anything with intention to use it to produce, sell, or distribute illicit cannabis; possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in public place; possession of illicit cannabis; and possessing cannabis for purpose of selling
Both were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 26.
