Police allegedly receive three complaints related to impaired driver in Orillia

A woman from Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township is facing numerous charges – including impaired driving – after police allegedly received three complaints from concerned members of the public.

According to the OPP, officers received a report regarding a suspected impaired driver leaving an address near downtown Orillia around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday (June 17).

“Police patrolled the area and were unable to find the vehicle,” a media release reads.

Police say a second call was received at approximately 9:30 p.m. reporting that the same vehicle was seen in the Township of Oro-Medonte, near Orillia.

“Police again searched the area and were unsuccessful in locating the vehicle,” the media release reads.

Shortly after midnight, police say a third call was received advising officers that the suspect vehicle was possibly in the West Ridge area of Orillia.

“Police again searched the area and located a vehicle that matched the description given,” the media release reads.

“A traffic stop was conducted and an impaired driving investigation ensued. During the investigation, it was also discovered that the female was a prohibited driver.”

Laura Bould, 39, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus), operation while prohibited, three counts of breach of probation order, as well as numerous additional offences contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Orillia court on Aug. 25.
