Toronto man charged with impaired driving following single-vehicle collision

A Toronto man has been charged with impaired driving following a single-vehicle collision in Kawartha Lakes.

According to the OPP, the initial call on Monday (June 15) indicated that a vehicle had collided with a guardrail on Hartley Road, south of Portage Road.

“Upon arrival on the scene, the officer conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of the driver,” reads a media release.

Tyrell Smith, 22, of Toronto has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus); use plate not authorized for vehicle; drive motor vehicle, no licence; and operate a motor vehicle without insurance.

He is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on Sept. 3.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
