Three people from Keswick were seriously injured following a collision near Claremont on Monday (June 15) night.
According to the DRPS, the collision occurred at the intersection of Brock Road and Pickering Concession Road 9 shortly before 7:30 p.m.
“A black Honda Civic was travelling east on Pickering Concession Road 9 while a silver Kia Rio was travelling north on Brock Road. The collision occurred within the intersection,” reads a media release.
The driver of the black Honda Civic – a 31-year-old man from Oshawa – was assessed, treated and released at the scene.
There were three occupants in the silver Kia Rio, police noted.
Two were transported to local hospitals for treatment and are listed in stable condition. The third, a 75-year-old woman, was taken to a trauma centre in the Toronto area for surgery.
The intersection was closed for several hours for the police investigation.
