Brock Soccer has cancelled its 2020 outdoor season in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision was announced in a social media post Friday (June 12) night.
“First, we would like to thank the many families that have been positive and patient during this ever-changing situation that we have all found ourselves navigating since March of this year. Brock Soccer Club has been following the direction and advice of the Durham Region Soccer Association as well as Ontario Soccer,” reads a social media post.
“At this time, we have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel our 2020 outdoor soccer season. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but more importantly we apologize to the many children and families that were looking forward to playing soccer this summer.”
Player registration fees will be fully refunded.
“Those families that registered online will receive refunds electronically through the program they used to register (Sport Engine). Families that registered in person will receive refunds via a cheque mailed to the address provided on the registration form,” the post reads.
“We will issue these refunds over the next week. If you have not received your refund by July 12, please contact us. Again, our apologies and thank you for your support.”
