Driver charged after allegedly travelling 105 km/h on Angeline Street in Lindsay

A motorist is facing charges after police allegedly clocked a vehicle travelling at more than twice the posted speed limit on Angeline Street in Lindsay.

According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, a constable was conducting speed enforcement on Angeline Street North in Lindsay on Tuesday (June 9) following a complaint from the public about vehicles not obeying the speed limit.

“At 1 p.m., the officer measured the speed of a vehicle travelling south on Angeline Street to be 105 km/h in the posted 50-km/h zone,” reads a media release.

“The officer stopped the vehicle and after further investigation found the driver to have cannabis readily available.”

The driver – whose name has not been released – has been charged with stunt driving, speeding, driver failing to surrender license and drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded for seven days.
