There are now nine confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brock Township.
The update Tuesday (June 9) from the Durham Region Health Department notes that the residents involved in two cases are in home isolation, while seven cases have been resolved.
Five of the cases – including the most recent – are related to facility outbreaks with three attributed to contact with a confirmed case and another linked to community transmission.
Overall, there have been 1,601 confirmed cases in Durham – 529 in Pickering, 410 in Ajax, 257 in Oshawa, 184 in Whitby, 99 in Uxbridge, 95 in Clarington, 18 in Scugog and the nine in Brock Township.
A total of 143 residents are in home isolation, with 23 currently hospitalized.
A total of 178 deaths – including 151 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.
A total of 1,257 cases have been resolved, which represents 79 per cent of the total.
