Police searching for suspects following a string of thefts from vehicles in Georgina

Police are searching for two suspects following a string of thefts from vehicles – and the theft of a vehicle – in Georgina.

According to the York Regional Police, two suspects entered unlocked vehicles that were parked in driveways in the areas of The Queensway South, Elm Avenue, Lake Drive South and Parkway Avenue late Sunday into Monday (May 31 and June 1).

“The suspects stole various items from the vehicles,” a media release reads.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Monday, police reportedly recovered a stolen Honda CRV that was abandoned in a driveway on Thompson Drive in Jackson’s Point.

“The vehicle was found to have been stolen from a driveway on Parkway Avenue earlier in the morning and is believed to be connected to the suspects and string of thefts,” reads a media release.

“Investigators are releasing an image of one of the suspects and are appealing to anyone with information on his identity to please call police.”

The suspect is described as a tall male, wearing a light-coloured hoodie, dark pants and carrying a bag.

“Investigators believe there may have been additional thefts from other vehicles in the area, which may not have been reported to police. If there were items stolen from your vehicle, please come forward to report,” the media release reads.

Investigators are also seeking anyone who may have video surveillance of the suspects to also contact police.
