Update: York Regional Police have clarified that the investigation is related to a suspicious package, not a suspicious vehicle.
Portions of two roads in Pefferlaw have been closed by police due to an ongoing investigation into a suspicious vehicle.
While few details have been released, a social media post from the York Regional Police shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday (June 2) notes that stretches of Old Homestead and Station roads have been both been closed.
“No immediate concerns for public safety. Please avoid area and find alternate route,” the post reads.
Several residents in the area have noted on social media that the matter appears to be related to a bomb threat though that has not been confirmed by police at this time.
