A 27-year-old man from Little Britain has been charged after allegedly speeding away from officers in Lindsay during a traffic stop.
According to the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, an officer stopped the vehicle at 11:45 p.m. on Angeline Street Wednesday (May 27).
“The vehicle initially stopped at the side of the road, but as the officer approached on foot to speak with the driver, the vehicle sped away,” reads a media release.
“The vehicle was found two hours later, abandoned in a driveway on Andrew Drive.”
Police say that further investigation led officers to determine the identity of the driver.
Anthony Rory Ormesher, 27, was arrested later the same morning. He has been charged with flight from police, failing to comply with his recognizance and failing to comply with his probation order.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
