A fifth confirmed case of COVID-19 has been reported in Brock Township according to an update from the Durham Region Health Department Tuesday (May 26) afternoon.
The residents involved in the two most recent cases are in home isolation, with the remaining three cases resolved.
Four of the cases in Brock are related to facility outbreaks, with the other linked to travel.
There have been no confirmed cases of community transmission thus far.
Overall, there have been 1,399 confirmed cases in Durham – 495 in Pickering, 362 in Ajax, 226 in Oshawa, 138 in Whitby, 84 in Clarington, 71 in Uxbridge, 18 in Scugog and the five in Brock Township.
A total of 145 residents are in home isolation, with 25 currently hospitalized.
A total of 168 deaths – including 143 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.
A total of 1,061 cases have been resolved, which represents 76 per cent of the total.
