Scarborough man charged after police called to assault in Omemee

A Scarborough man has been charged after police were called to an assault-in-progress in front of a business on the main street of Omemee on Saturday (May 23).
According to the OPP, officers attended the area and located the suspect a short distance from the original scene.
The suspect, a 36-year old Scarborough resident, has been charged with assault – spousal and possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine.
The accused, whose name has not been released to protect the identity of the victim, is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on July 30.
