An employee at Vos’ Your Independent Grocer in Port Perry has tested positive for COVID-19.

A social media post from the business Wednesday (May 20) evening notes that the case is considered presumptive at this point.

“Please note, this individual has not been in the store since May 15,” it reads.

In addition to daily disinfectant protocols and the social distancing practices currently in place, the post states that an additional cleaning was undertaken overnight.

As well, the following measures have or will be implemented:

– Reaching out to the local public health authority to investigate the team member’s recent shifts and direct contacts;
– Instructed any potentially exposed team members to stay home and self-isolate; and
– Out of an abundance of caution, notifying customers who recently transacted at this store.

“We understand that you may have questions and want to assure you that we take your safety, and the safety of our team, very seriously. We will work with the local public health team on any further directions and encourage you to reach out to them if you need more information,” the post concludes.
