
A Whitby man is facing charges following a traffic stop in Kawartha Lakes.
According to the OPP, an officer initiated the traffic stop on Thursday (May 14) after noting that the vehicle’s licence plates had expired.
“The officer initiated an investigation, revealing some inconsistencies with the information provided by the driver,” reads a media release.
James Sinclair, 55, has been charged obstruct peace officer; personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice (identity fraud); and failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
