Police investigating small fire, evidence of “Molotov cocktail” in Lindsay

Police are investigating after a small fire was discovered in a Lindsay parking lot, with evidence of a “Molotov cocktail” nearby.

Just before 9:30 p.m. Friday (May 8), Kawartha Lakes Police and the Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service responded to reports of a suspicious fire in a parking lot on Kent Street West in Lindsay.

Police say they found a small fire with evidence of a “Molotov cocktail” on the ground nearby.

“Fortunately, there was no damage to any of the surrounding properties and the fire was extinguished,” reads a release from police.

The Kawartha Lakes Police Service Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene to collect the evidence, and the area was canvassed for witnesses.
