A man from Lindsay is charged after police responded to an alleged assault at a residence over the weekend.
Kawartha Lakes Police say a man attended a Lindsay Street North residence at 8:30 p.m. Sunday (May 10) where he reportedly accused an occupant of damaging his vehicle.
Police say the man then assaulted the individual, resulting in the victim suffering a broken nose.
The man left the residence and the victim contacted police.
Officers reportedly found the suspect 15 minutes later and arrested him. Police say he was found to be in possession of cocaine and heroin.
The accused is charged with assault causing bodily harm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5000 and three counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a probation order. His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim involved.
The accused was scheduled to appear in court Monday (May 11) for a bail hearing.
