Newmarket man charged after suspected cocaine, cannabis and cash allegedly seized by police

A Newmarket man has been charged after police allegedly seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, cannabis and cash during a traffic stop in Orillia.

According to the OPP, officers conducted a traffic stop on Colborne Street shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Monday (May 4).

“As a result of that traffic stop, police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, marihuana, cash and items consistent with drug trafficking,” reads a media release.

Jesse Taylor, 24, has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a Schedule I substance, possession of proceed obtained by crime, two counts of fail to comply with release order, possession for the purpose of distributing and distribute illicit cannabis.

The suspect was held pending a bail hearing.
