Police in Kawartha Lakes are investigating an altercation between two youths that resulted in one of them being taken into custody and the other being airlifted to a Toronto hospital.

According to the OPP, officers were called to the area of Kawartha Lakes Road 8 and East Beehive Road shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (May 5).

“Initial investigation indicated that two youths had been involved in an altercation. One youth has been taken into custody,” reads a media release.

“One youth was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital and then later transported to a Toronto area hospital via Ornge ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.”
