There are now 1,111 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Durham Region.

The update from the Durham Region Health Department Wednesday (May 6) states that there have been 421 cases in Pickering, 285 in Ajax, 188 in Oshawa, 105 in Whitby, 71 in Clarington, 28 in Uxbridge, 10 in Scugog and three in Brock Township.

A total of 347 residents are in home isolation, with 41 currently hospitalized.

A total of 133 deaths – including 115 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 568 cases have been resolved, which represents 55 per cent of the total.
