Forensic investigators have identified the man that was found dead in the Beaverton area early last month.
According to the DRPS, his body was found on a wooded property north of the Ultramar gas station by a surveyor just before 2 p.m. on April 3.
“No foul play suspected and there was nothing suspicious,” said Dave Selby, director of corporate communications for the DRPS, at the time.
The remains were sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for examination.
In an update Tuesday (May 5), Selby noted that the man – who lived outside Durham Region – has been identified and his next of kin have been contacted.
The death has been deemed a suicide.
