There are 1,046 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Durham Region.

The update from the Durham Region Health Department Sunday (May 3) states that there have been 401 cases in Pickering, 270 in Ajax, 171 in Oshawa, 103 in Whitby, 63 in Clarington, 28 in Uxbridge, eight in Scugog and two in Brock Township.

A total of 339 residents are in home isolation, with 42 currently hospitalized.

A total of 123 deaths – including 106 at long-term care and retirement homes – have been attributed to COVID-19.

A total of 542 cases have been resolved, which represents 52 per cent of the total.
