Ramara Township has cancelled all recreational programming for the rest of the calendar year.
According to a media release, council approved the measure on Monday (April 27) with the aim of resuming programs in 2021.
Affected programs include summer day camps, minor soccer, permits for tee-ball and slo-pitch events, all rentals at the Ramara Centre and all satellite programs that run in municipal facilities.
The cancellation even includes programs run outside of municipal facilities, such as swimming lessons or youth programs in schools.
Mayor Basil Clarke noted that the decision could be revisited by the municipality at a later date.
