Peterborough County man charged after child sexual exploitation investigation

A Peterborough County man has been charged following an online undercover child sexual exploitation investigation.

According to the OPP, officers executed a search warrant Wednesday (April 22) and seized numerous electronic exhibits for further examination.

Colin Michael Morley, 35, has been charged with one count of luring a person under the age of 16 and one count of sending sexually explicit material to a child under the age of 16.

He is scheduled to appear in Peterborough court on July 2.

“The OPP will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children. Child exploitation is everyone’s business and police cannot do it alone,” said Staff Sergeant Sharon Hanlon of the OPP’s Child Sexual Exploitation Unit.

“Everyone needs to know that these offenders operate amongst us and go undetected due to a lack of understanding. Everyone can make a difference by educating themselves about what child sexual exploitation really looks like.”
