Police continue to probe the disappearance of a woman from the Apsley area nearly 50 years after she went missing.
Francis Muriel Harris (nee Johnson) was last seen at her home on Highway 28 on April 21, 1972.
She was 45 years of age at the time of her disappearance and the mother of three children. She was reported missing by her husband on April 24, 1972.
“Police conducted an initial investigation at the time of her disappearance and have continued to follow-up. From April 21, 1972 to present, no one in the family has heard or seen Francis Harris. The OPP cannot rule out foul play,” reads a media release.
On the anniversary of her disappearance, police have released her photo as well as a sketch of what she may have looked like at the age of 65.
If Harris was alive today, she would be 93.
“Since 1972, the OPP has been investigating the disappearance of Francis HARRIS. This case like all missing person investigations has an impact on families and the community. We are committed to bringing resolution by determining what happened to Francis,” said Detective Inspector Shawn Glassford of the OPP.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
