The 2020 edition of the Uxbridge Fall Fair has been cancelled in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
That decision was announced Tuesday (April 14) evening in a social media post from the event’s board of directors.
“In these uncertain times, the safety and well-being of our volunteers and our community is of utmost importance. We wish to be prudent with our human and financial resources,” the post reads.
“For these reasons, the Board of Directors of the Uxbridge-Scott Agricultural Society wishes to advise that the 2020 Uxbridge Fall Fair is officially cancelled.”
It states that the decision was made after “much careful consideration, discussion and heartbreak.”
“The Uxbridge Fall Fair has overcome many challenges in its 156 years and we will overcome this one too,” the post reads.
“We look forward to having much to celebrate together with our community at our 2021 fair.”
