An Orillia woman wanted on an outstanding warrant has also been charged with drug possession after being searched by police.

According to the OPP, officers received a call regarding a suspicious person shortly before 6 p.m. Monday (April 13).

“Police located a female with the same description. After a brief investigation, it was found that the female was wanted. She was placed under arrest and was searched,” a media release reads.

“During the search, a quantity of cocaine was located.”

Ashley Brown, 27, has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine.

She is scheduled to appear in Orillia court on June 23.
