A Brock Township man has been charged in relation to an incident in Oshawa last month that allegedly saw two teenaged students sprayed with a noxious substance.
Police say a 15-year-old boy was walking to school along with a 16-year-old female friend on March 9.
“At the corner of Adelaide Avenue East and Harmony Road North, an unknown male approached them and started spraying the male student with a substance similar to bear spray. The unknown male then ran away into Easton Park. The 16-year-old female friend was also contaminated by the spray. Both were taken to hospital with eye irritation and later released,” the initial media release reads.
A suspect was arrested in Sunderland on Tuesday (April 7).
“The 15-year-old male victim knew the suspect and this was not a random act,” reads a media release.
Joshua Sanderson, 21, of Concession Road 9 in Brock Township has been charged with assault with a weapon, administer noxious thing and weapons dangerous.
He was released on an undertaking.
