Police probing break-in, fire at Georgina school

Investigators are searching for suspects following a break-in and fire at a Georgina school Thursday (April 9) morning.

According to the York Regional Police, officers were dispatched to a fire at the school on Glenwoods Avenue shortly after 4 a.m.

“When officers arrived, they learned that a window had been smashed in a door on the southeast side of the school. A fire was set inside one of the lockers but was extinguished before it caused very much damage. The suspect is believed to have been injured as a result of the entry,” reads a media release.

“Investigators are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, who have not yet spoken to police, to please come forward.”
