One resident at Pinecrest Nursing Home passed away yesterday. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in our home now stands at 23.
Our staff continue to ensure quality care and a safe environment for all residents. All staff are wearing full personal protective equipment at all times while on the premises. This includes masks, gloves, gowns, and face shields. I cannot thank our front-line staff enough for their continued dedication to the care of our residents.
We have had some questions from media about our protocols and directives. I want to assure you that we have been following the directives from Public Health and have been working with them closely. If you would like to know what those directives are and how they have changed over time, I would encourage you to contact public health.
We have been working closely with Public Health and with our Medical Directors closely to ensure we have the most up to date information and so that they are able to share our experiences with other public health units and with the province.
I’d like to thank the community again for their ongoing support. Through the hard work of our staff and the generosity of the community, we will get through this challenging time.
