Two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ramara Township

There have been two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ramara Township.

According to information posted by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, a man in his 60s contracted the virus during travel to Thailand last month and has since recovered.

The second case in Ramara was confirmed Thursday (April 2) and involves a man in his 70s. The health unit believes the virus was contracted through community spread.

“The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit currently has 71 confirmed cases of COVID-19 including 20 recovered, 11 hospitalizations and 4 deaths,” reads a statement from the health unit.
