Health department launches online tool to track COVID-19 cases

The Durham Region Health Department has launched a new online tool to help residents track the spread of COVID-19.

“This new feature provides the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases by status, municipality, age and gender. The tracker will also display the number of new cases and cumulative cases by reported date and onset date,” a social media post reads.

The data, which will be updated daily at 1 p.m., confirms that there have been no confirmed cases of the virus in Brock Township at this time.

There have been 42 cases in Ajax, 40 in Oshawa, 35 in Whitby, 26 in Pickering, 25 in Clarington, three in Uxbridge and two in Scugog. That totals 173 confirmed cases throughout the Region.

A total of 118 residents have been placed in home isolation, with 31 hospitalized.

Nine deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.
