There has now been 150 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Durham Region according to an update posted by the area health department.
The update, posted Wednesday (April 2) afternoon, notes that 26 people have been hospitalized due to the virus thus far.
“Among cases of COVID-19 in Durham Region, there have been 6 deaths; of these deaths, 2 have occurred in residents living in long-term care homes or retirement homes. To date, there have been 14 people diagnosed with COVID-19 who have recovered from their illness,” it reads.
There has been 2,793 confirmed cases throughout Ontario and 53 deaths.
