Brock Township has closed all of its outdoor recreational facilities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The order includes all Township sports fields, playgrounds, skate parks, walking trails, basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic shelters and all other recreational areas effective Tuesday (March 31).
During a special council meeting Monday (March 30), Mayor Debbie Bath-Hadden said that 30 signs making note of facility closures had been removed from Township property in recent days.
“I’m very disappointed,” she said, adding that new signs will be going up this week.
Mayor Bath-Hadden urged residents to follow the social distancing protocols mandated by the provincial government.
“I’m not sure if we’re all getting the message…the message is very clear – stay home,” she said.
