The Brock Community Health Centre is organizing a donation drive for the local food banks.
The initiative – set to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. next Tuesday (March 31) – comes as donations to both the Brock Community Food Bank and the Nourish Community Hub have slowed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s designed to provide a safe means for residents to show their support.
Donations can be placed in clear bags outside of the Beaverton-Thorah Health Centre (468 Main Street, Beaverton) where they will be received by Brock CHC staff in full personal protective equipment.
Items received will be evenly distributed between the two organizations, according to a post on social media.
Items most needed include canned meat, canned fruit, instant/bulk oatmeal, canned stew, canned chili, canned pasta, canned potatoes, canned beans, rice, children’s snacks (nut-free), pudding/applesauce, toiletries (toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo, razors, toilet paper, diapers, baby wipes) and gift cards.
