
A man is facing charges after allegedly fleeing from police in Woodville Friday (March 6).
According to the OPP, officers obtained a warrant for his arrest after receiving information related to a domestic altercation that had occurred in February.
An officer patrolling the Woodville area spotted the wanted party driving a vehicle on King Street on Friday.
“The officer subsequently attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect vehicle accelerated away from the cruiser, and pulled into a nearby driveway at which time the driver left the scene on foot,” reads a media release.
“The OPP’s Canine Unit attended the location to assist with the incident and the suspect was located at a residence on King Street. The accused was arrested a short time later, without incident.”
The man has been charged with assault and flight from police officer and was held for a bail hearing.
His name has not been released to protect the identity of the victim.
