A Kawartha Lakes woman has been charged with impaired driving and drug possession following a single-vehicle collision.
According to police, an officer was called to the collision on Peniel Road Wednesday (March 4) and initiated an investigation.
The officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and subsequently arrested and charged her, police say.
Judy Vanluven, 56, has been charged with operation while impaired and possession of a Schedule I substance – heroin.
“There were no injuries, the vehicle was towed from the scene and the officer seized a small quantity of what is believed to be heroin,” a media release reads.
She is scheduled to appear in Lindsay court on April 16.
