An elementary school in Little Britain was placed on a hold and secure after a staff member reported hearing gunshots in the area.

According to the OPP, officers were contacted by a representative from Dr. George Hall Public School Friday (Feb. 28) morning.

“Dr. George Hall Public School was placed in a hold and secure as a precaution – officers attended the area to investigate,” reads a media release.

“The noise was reported to have occurred at approximately 11:25 am from a rural area behind the school. An investigation ensued and the area was checked. No safety concerns were identified for the students. The hold and secure has been lifted.”
