Two motorists charged with speeding on Highway 7

Two motorists were charged with speeding after allegedly being clocked at more than 50 km/h above the posted limit on Highway 7 Sunday (Feb. 23).

According to the OPP, the officer was patrolling the highway when two vehicles were reportedly observed travelling at a high rate of speed near White Rock Road.

“The first vehicle was travelling at 137 km/h in an 80-km/h zone, being operated by a 20-year-old Lindsay resident. The second vehicle was being driven by a 21-year-old Lindsay resident, at 133km/h in an 80-km/h zone,” reads a media release.

“The OPP is committed to public safety and would like to remind motorists that speed is a contributing factor to many serious collisions.”
