Police searching for ‘vehicle of interest’ from Omemee shooting

Police are looking to track down the owner of a “vehicle of interest” from a homicide in Omemee on Tuesday (Feb. 18).

According to the OPP, who shared photos on social media, the vehicle is a grey Ford Focus with tinted windows and steel rims. It was last seen travelling west on Highway 7 shortly after a shooting that killed 18-year-old Alexander Tobin.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a man suffering from a gunshot wound around 1 p.m.

Two people were arrested later in the day and have since been identified as 23-year-old Aaron Simmonds and 18-year-old Zachary Simmonds, both of Bethany.

Both were charged with second degree murder and are slated to appear in Lindsay court on Feb. 27.
