A four-vehicle collision that closed the main intersection in Utica for several hours Wednesday (Feb. 19) resulted in no serious injuries.
According to the DRPS, officers were called to Regional Road 21 and Marsh Hill Road in Scugog Township regarding a multi-vehicle collision shortly after 4 p.m.
“Several vehicles travelling westbound on Regional Road 21 had stopped for a vehicle making a left-hand turn to go southbound on Marsh Hill Road. A grey Honda was also travelling westbound and did not slow down, striking a white Honda,” reads a media release.
“The white Honda was then pushed into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by another vehicle.”
The estimated damage to all four vehicles involved is $40,000, police say.
The driver of the grey Honda, a 72-year-old Scugog Township man, was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
“All of the drivers involved and passengers remained on scene and were not seriously injured,” the media release reads.
