Report of suspicious vehicle leads to charges for Stoney Creek man

A Stoney Creek man has been charged after police received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Simcoe Street on Saturday (Jan. 25).

According to the OPP, officers observed the vehicle parked in a residential driveway upon arrival.

“Investigation indicated that the vehicle had been reported stolen from York Region. Following fresh tracks in the snow, the officers located a lone male in the back yard of the residence,” reads a media release.

Nicholas, Bilbija, 35, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, over $5000 and trespassing at night.

He was held pending a bail hearing.
