
A Georgina man has been charged in connection with 27 commercial break-ins in York Region.
According to police, the investigation got underway following a break and enter at a restaurant on Woodbine Avenue in Whitchurch-Stouffville on Dec. 14.
“During the rest of December and into January 2020, officers responded to a high volume of similar commercial break and enters throughout the City of Markham, the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, the Town of Newmarket and the Town of Georgina,” reads a media release.
“Through the investigation and the evidence obtained, officers were able to identify the suspect and linked him to a total of 27 incidents.”
A suspect was arrested on Jan. 22, police said.
James Taylor, 38, has been charged with 27 counts of break and enter.
He was scheduled to make a court appearance in Newmarket on Friday (Jan. 24).
