Three women charged following alleged theft from Lindsay business

Three women have been charged following an alleged theft at a Lindsay business.

According to police, an employee of the Kent Street West business called officers after a woman was observed leaving the store with property she had concealed in her clothing.

“Officers located the woman a short time later in a vehicle with two other women,” reads a media release.

“The investigating officer determined that all three women were in possession of stolen property and placed them under arrest.”

Simone Davies, 47, of Mount Albert has been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Joanne Scott, 57, of Mount Albert has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Kelsey Schmidt, 31, of Oshawa has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

All three are slated to appear in Lindsay court on Feb. 20.
