A total of 104 motorists were charged with impaired driving during this season’s DRPS Festive Ride campaign.
Twelve drivers were charged over the final week of the campaign, in which more than 4,100 vehicles were stopped at checkpoints in Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Scugog and Brock Township.
The seven-week total represents a decrease from 2018/19 when 117 charges were laid.
“Another 89 motorists registered a WARN on a roadside screening device and had their driver’s licence suspended for three days,” reads a media release from police.
“Last year, a total of 111 drivers had their licences suspended for registering a WARN.”
A full list of those charged with impaired driving will be posted this week on the DRPS website.
