Man found dead after shots heard in Oshawa

A man in his 20s was found dead in a north Oshawa home early Tuesday morning (Dec. 24).

Just before 3 a.m., Durham Regional Police were called regarding gunshots heard in the area of Simcoe Street North and Britannia Avenue West.

When they arrived on scene, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is underway, according to police.

This is the seventh homicide of the year in Durham Region.
