
A Mississauga man and Lindsay woman been charged after police allegedly recovered a loaded handgun and drugs during a traffic stop in Lindsay.
According to police, officers spotted a vehicle travelling without headlights on Kent Street West around 10:15 p.m. Monday (Dec. 16) night and stopped to investigate the driver.
“The driver was arrested shortly after for failing to identify himself to police. Following his arrest, a loaded nine-millimeter, prohibited handgun was located inside the vehicle,” reads a media release.
“A female passenger in the vehicle who was also arrested, was found to be in possession of cocaine and hydromorphone.”
Olajuwon Ajibola, 28, has been charged with fifteen firearm related offences, including possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
Michaela Davey, 19, has been charged with nine firearm related offences and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Both were held in custody pending bail hearings.
